With branches in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer, plus individual members in other communities, ARMTA members directly impact the music education of approximately 4,000 students.  

We are a founding member of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Associations (CFMTA), which serves over 3,000 music teachers and their students across Canada.  

Through our partnerships with complimentary music associations, foundations, and educational institutions, we can reach every music teacher and student in Alberta. As one of our new and interesting colleagues, you can help to enhance and grow the music teaching community.

Member services for your studio

  • All full members become Registered Music Teachers.
    • You may use the Registered Music Teacher designation, indicating the ARMTA Examining Board has validated your professional qualifications.
  • Website domain hosting for $50/year.
    • Members are responsible for their domain name registration (usually $10-$30 per year).
    • We will help you get your website set up and show you how to login and make edits.

  • Automatic professional liability insurance of up to $5,000,000.00, renewed annually.
    • Your membership includes a $5 million third party limited liability insurance policy that covers you and your students wherever you are teaching.
    • For recitals or teaching events in venues requesting more than the $500,000 tenant’s liability insurance included, an insurance certificate with your venue listed as an additional insured is available at no charge on request to extend the liability insurance to $5,000,000 for the day of your event.
