Dynamic Piano Masterclass for RCM levels 3 through 9

Co-sponsored by Alberta Music Education Foundation and Alberta Registered Music Teachers' Association

2025 Alberta Band Summit studio session for an audience of conference attendees. This auditioned masterclass will focus on several students performing music from Lists C or D in the RCM 2022 piano edition for Levels 3 through 9.

Audition is open to all Alberta Teachers’ students.

Masterclass and Audition Details

Eligibility

Applicants must be:

  • Canadian citizens or landed immigrants
  • piano student of an Alberta teacher at the time of application

Audition by Audio Submission

An upload of applicant’s unedited, audio only performance of 1 piece (5 minutes maximum) is to accompany the application.

  • Repertoire: Participants may choose any single piece from RCM List C or D (Grades 3-9)

Masterclass Participants

  • The audio judge will select three students from varying levels to participate.
  • Selected participants
    • will be asked to provide a short bio and headshot photo. (Optional for minor children.)
    • will be notified by October 10, 2025. 
    • will receive a link to submit payment due October 17, 2025
